Join us for an inspiring and insightful exploration of neurodiversity in the construction industry, led by chair Ellen Coleman, Social Value Manager at Mace, with construction professionals from AtkinsRéalis and Ridge & Partners LLP. This dynamic session will blend lived experience, practical demonstration and open conversation to break down stereotypes and showcase the strengths that neurodivergent colleagues bring to the workplace.
The session will open with a visual overview of neurodiversity before meeting our panel of construction professionals, each bringing their own background and perspective. Ellen will guide a candid discussion beginning with personal lived experience, followed by an engaging demonstration of Spoon Theory using to illustrate the day‑to‑day energy demands faced by neurodivergent individuals.
The panel will dive into burnout, strengths, coping mechanisms, workplace adjustments, best‑practice support, and how organisations can measure social value and impact. Along with time for audience questions, this session promises practical insights, real lived experience stories, and tangible actions to build a more inclusive, supportive industry for everyone.
