We are delighted to welcome Gena Ibraev, Chair of the BSI Technical Committee B/570 'Quality Management in the Built Environment', to update us on the continuing development of the post-Grenfell quality management environment and how it supports achieving the objectives of the Building Safety Act.

The UK construction sector operates in a regulatory environment that increasingly demands demonstrable control, not just documented compliance.  ISO 9001 provides a generic framework, but its application to complex, multi-stakeholder projects remains inconsistent. BS 99001 was developed to address this gap by translating quality management principles into sector-specific requirements aligned with project delivery realities.

This session will examine how BS 99001 strengthens governance, clarifies roles and responsibilities, and improves control of design, supply chain and lifecycle information.  It will also explore how organisations can move from fragmented systems to integrated assurance, supporting both regulatory compliance and more reliable project outcomes.
