Speakers and Presentations
Constructing Excellence National Update
Alison Nicholl, Head of Constructing Excellence (CE)
Alison has a background in knowledge transfer, driving innovation and change into the construction sector both in the UK and overseas. Alison is Head of Constructing Excellence, where she works with its members and wider movement to drive positive change in the built environment. Alison has a passion for transforming the construction sector into a more innovative, inclusive and sustainable industry.
Alison will provide us with her customary (re)introduction to the CE movement and its current situation, and provide an outline of the drivers of and focus areas for the year ahead.
Constructing Excellence London & South East Update
Derek Rees, CEO, South East Centre for the Built Environment (SECBE)
Derek Rees is the force behind SECBE, which helps drive positive change through the built environment sector – using core values of collaboration, innovation, and inspiration to secure adequate investment and action. Derek trained in construction management and gained his broader knowledge through his work with the Construction Industry Board, the national strategic forum for construction.
SECBE is the link between CE and its local clubs in the London and the South East region. SECBE also manages the Innovative Future leaders Programme (IFLP), the national Construction Logistics and Community Safety programme (CLOCS), and Co-Train, a programme to support young people into the construction sector via structured apprenticeships.
Richard Derek will (re-) introduce you to the CE clubs in London and the South East; provide a flavour of the diversity of members, membership and approaches to constructing excellence issues across the region; and outline how you can get involved in and benefit from the CE local network.
